Advice & Guidance
Governors, Headteachers, and Clerks/Governance Professionals can contact us via email and telephone, and we also provide out-of-hours support for urgent matters. We can help with governing body membership, elections, and inspection support.
If you have a complex issue, such as complaints about a school or serious concerns, we can provide face-to-face support. Draft agendas are also available. Additionally, regulatory updates are provided.
Full Governor Support
Our full-service offer is detailed below, if this does not meet your requirements, we can offer a reduced service or in some cases a bespoke service to meet your needs.
Our full-service offer includes:
- Preparation of a draft agenda, 2-3 weeks in advance of your meeting. This will include standing items that you have provided us with, statutory items and items requested by your LA or MAT.
- Circulation of the agenda and papers within the legal timeframe via GovernorHub, Sharepoint or other means you have requested.
- Attendance of a Clerk/Governance Professional at your meeting.
- Advice and guidance during the meeting. Best practice can also be shared if required.
- Production of a draft of high-quality, professional minutes within 15 school days of the meeting.
- Follow-up actions required.
- Monitoring of attendance including disqualification of
- Governors/Trustees where applicable.
- Skills audit circulation and analysis.
- Maintenance of the Register of Business Interests.
- Statutory Governor information required for your website, in a format that allows a simple upload.
- Help with recruitment of new Governors.
- Resources to aid with recruitment and ballots.
- Advice and guidance between meetings.
